The Kickstarter FAQ still says 'we are releasing on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, and PS4' I intend to buy the Linux release once its available. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Linux and macOS ports were also confirmed. The development of the game started on the Unity engine and was first announced in 2015 for Windows and consoles. The remake was developed by Nightdive Studios and published by Prime Matter. The layout was slightly different in that Demo but if you asked me if I felt cheated in any way playing the retail versus the latest Demo I wouldn't mind as the experience overall is quite similar seeing that the Demo is just that - a Demo.Īs a side note it was actually super fun playing the different revisions of the Demos as the game progressively changed for the best (in most cases at least) although the art style of some of the earlier version felt nicer to me in some sections of the first map. I was kinda curious for this one, but without native Linux support thats a hard sell. System Shock is a remake of the 1994 game of the same name. I don't know if it changed after that October 2021 version I played (doesn't allow me download right now) but the last version around that time was quite close to the final version overall. The last Unreal Engine Demo version I played was version 1.1, last downloaded in October 2021 - the previous older one I have being from February 2021 and was tagged 1.0 and was UE too. Harbdog: The released game is way more polished and better than the demo which is from 3 years ago! That is not fully accurate seeing that the Demo was updated multiple times - the original being in Unity (the last one I got was "alpha demo v1.22" from after may 2020 - and not the latest version in Unreal Engine (same as final version).
